Ines Reiger und Klaus Wienerroither (Gestaltung)

Programme marking 50 years of the ORF Big Band on Friday, 10 December 2021, continued after midnight. The radio big band (ORF: Austria’s public broadcaster), which grew out of the Johannes Fehring Orchestra in October 1971, existed until 1982; the text names Pepl alongside Fritz Pauer and Erich Bachträgl among its important Austrian musicians. The music includes recordings with Carl Drewo, Slide Hampton and Dexter Gordon.

Important Austrian jazz musicians such as the pianist Fritz Pauer, the guitarist Harry Pepl or the drummer Erich Bachträgl complemented this international quality congenially.
