At the 14th Austrian Soundcheck at the Studentenhaus Münzgraben, the Jazzkartell Graz (gamsbART) awarded the Harry Pepl Prize for the first time, for musicians under 30, a scholarship of 5,000 euros from the City of Graz. The Kleine Zeitung gives 17 November as the date. Heckel dates the founding of the prize to 2009, which contemporary sources refute.
