Andy Manndorff

Private student and close friend: as a young guitarist he always came to Pepl privately, not through the university. Of their first meeting he recalled: “As a young lad I approached Harry, and he said: ‘Laddie, if you want to come to me, you'd better already be able to play.’” Later he said Pepl was the only teacher who had been able to teach him anything. In 2006 the Andy Manndorff Trio played at the “Tribute to Harry Pepl” at Porgy & Bess.
