Jazz Magazine on the archive: “a veritable mine of information”
Jazz Magazine, the French jazz magazine, reported on the Harry Pepl Archive on Monday, 26 October 2026, the day it opened.

The jazz journalist Xavier Prévost calls it “a veritable mine of information on this great soloist, who made himself heard throughout Europe and in the United States as well”. Pepl had been heard in France with the French clarinettist and saxophonist Michel Portal, the American drummer Jack DeJohnette and the Swiss drummer Daniel Humair, he writes, and French musicians still play his compositions today. Jazz Magazine had already reported in 2020 and 2021 on the duo of the vibraphonist Franck Tortiller and the guitarist Misja Fitzgerald-Michel, which has a piece by Pepl in its programme. The report is in the press archive, with short quotations.
