Gottfried Zawichowski
In 1989, together with Albert Kreuzer, he recruited an international faculty for the first Lower Austrian Jazz Academy at Zeillern Castle near Amstetten, among them Harry Pepl for guitar; Pepl taught there until at least 1994. As Zawichowski remembers it, Pepl worked a great deal and intensively with the course participants, who held him in high esteem. For the academy's 1993 CD the teachers provided finished recordings, and in his estimation so did Pepl, with “Scale Fox” (information from Gottfried Zawichowski, 25 October 2026).
Musician from Tulln, Lower Austria, Austria; in 1989 he founded the Niederösterreichische Jazzakademie (Lower Austrian Jazz Academy) with Albert Kreuzer and looked after its organisational side. Today he is responsible for the project management of the courses at the Musikfabrik Niederösterreich, which among other things offers the Lower Austrian Jazz Academy, and works at the Centre for Applied Music Research of the University for Continuing Education Krems (formerly Danube University Krems).

I remember the weeks in Zeillern well and with great joy, when we had wonderful musical and also human experiences with Harry. […] [He] worked a great deal and intensively with the course participants and was held in high esteem by them.
