The title was meant, with a pinch of self-irony, to express something fundamentally positive: air, love and something more, vitamins as well. Pepl called the piece a sweet song with a simple melody that really calls for voice or saxophone with long notes. Wolfgang Muthspiel named an album after the piece in 2004; further recordings come from, among others, Christian Muthspiel (2007) and Franck Tortiller with Misja Fitzgerald-Michel (2020). In 1994 an unreleased pop version with English lyrics was made with Agnes Heginger; the melody also underlies the song “Luft, Liebe und Vitamine”.
