The piece works with fourth chords, chromatically shifted parallel chords, diminished chords, a bass pedal on C and C sharp, and quasi-swing at tempo 120. It is the subject of a self-experiment in Heckel's dissertation in which two fellow musicians re-interpreted the piece from a verbal score.
