This study of popular music in Salzburg, Austria, documents the appearance of Pepl’s group Hip Jargon with Werner Pirchner, the Austrian composer and vibraphonist, in June 1975 and quotes two Salzburg reviews: the Salzburger Volksblatt (25 June 1975) praised “a well-balanced mix of superbly played solos” and “free jazz for connoisseurs”, the Salzburger Tagblatt wrote of “top-class jazz” (translated from the German).
