leader, composition, arrangement
Johannes Fehring
1926 – † 2004
The ORF Big Band, in which Pepl was guitarist, grew out of his orchestra in 1971; according to a contemporary printed page from the estate, Fehring looked after productions and public recordings of the band as leader. At Peter Alexander's concert in the Cologne Sporthalle on Thursday, 23 September 1976 (album “Das Peter Alexander Konzert live”, according to the label “Johannes Fehring mit seinem Orchester”), Pepl played guitar in the backing band.
Austrian composer, arranger and bandleader (born Johannes Fernbach). He founded the Orchester Johannes Fehring in 1955, which played at the Theater an der Wien from 1965 to 1983, accompanied Peter Alexander on tour for years and in 1971 helped found the ORF Big Band.
