Walter Richard Langer
An important supporter of Harry Pepl and the Jazzzwio: Pepl appeared several times on “Bourbon Street”, also with Werner Pirchner, and Langer played his music on his Ö3 programmes.
Viennese jazz presenter and broadcast journalist (1936 to 1995), known as “Warila”. From the ORF reform of 1967 the most influential jazz presenter at the ORF: more than 20 years of “Vokal, Instrumental, International” on Ö3 (1967 to 1987), as well as “Ö3-Jazzhaus” (1981 to 1992), “Jazz Unlimited” and, in 1995, the Ö1 Jazznacht. His TV series “Bourbon Street” ran for 35 episodes from 1975 to 1979. He ended every show with “Keep swinging!”.
