Ausführlicher biografischer Essay des früheren Produzenten von PolyGram Austria und Mitgründers von „Jazz Live“, mit Fotos aus der Familiensammlung. Müller lernte Pepl 1984 bei einem Konzert von Air Mail in Wien kennen. Er beschreibt das Jazzzwio und die Zeit mit Benny Goodman, die Entstehung der „Schönberg Improvations“, mit deren Idee Pepl in sein Büro kam, und die Solo-Klavierplatte „Flow“ von 1996, aufgenommen ohne Korrekturen. Einzelne biografische Angaben, etwa zur Geburt und zum Beginn der Lehre in Graz, weichen von den Belegen ab.
